Keene State Splits With Bentley

KEENE, New Hampshire, January 27. THE Keene State College women's swim team set two school records in its 173-127 dual meet victories over Bentley College at Spaulding Gym Pool on Saturday. It was the Owls first win over Bentley in almost a decade.

The nine member KSC men's team gave the Falcons all they could handle before falling 165-121.

The Owl women, who remain undefeated (8-0), began the meet by setting a record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:54.15. The team of Kristine Trutor (Holden, Mass.), Alea Paddock (Newbury, N.H.), Katlin Pryor (Jaffrey, N.H.), and Kelly Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) bettered the old mark of 1:54.23 set in 2002. It was KSC's first relay record of the season.

Later in the meet, Trutor broke her own 200 back record with a time of 2:14.29. Her previous record this season was 2:14.89. Trutor also won the 100 free (1:01.36), and the 100 fly (1:02.14) races.

In addition to helping to set the 200 medley relay mark, Pryor posted wins in the 200 free (2:00.52), 200 fly (2:20.96), and the 500 free (5:25.73).

The Owls, who won 12 swim events, also received first places finishes from Devon Trabilsy (Hillsborough, N.J.) in the 1,000 free (11:22.81), Paddock in the 100 breast (1:11.38), Widman in the 50 free (25.92), and Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.) in the 100 free (56.40).

In the Keene State men's team (3-3) won nine events in the meet. Freshman Michael Fedele (Sandwich, Mass.) led the way with wins in the 100 breast (1:02.71), 200 breast (2:20.34), and 200 I.M. (2:04.37).

Freshman Cody Larrimore (Trappe, Md.) and Kyle Uricchio (Enfield, Con.) were double winners for the Owls. Larrimore posted victories in the 100 free (49.02) and 100 fly (55.05) and Uricchio (Enfield, Conn.) swam to wins in the in the 1,000 free (10:19.39) and 200 fly (2:08.52.

Other first place performances were turned in by Domingo Rose (Nashua, N.H.) in the 50 free (22.98),and Adam Van Brandenburg (Tenafly, N.J.) in the 500 free (5:02.34).
