Nebraska, 121, Northern Iowa, 81

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa, January 20. THE University of Northern Iowa women's swim team fell to Nebraska, 121-81, lowering its dual meet record to 3-8. The Panthers won two of 13 events, but finished in the top three in 10 events.

First place finishes went to senior Rachael Robnett (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Lake City) in the 100-yard breast and the 400-yard free relay team consisting of freshman Amanda Firman (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), freshman Kelly Mateas (Winfield, Ill./Community), senior Erin Danielson (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) and sophomore Ashley Hunter (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley North).

Panthers claimed second in four individual events. Sophomore Katie Klinkenborg (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) raced in to second in the 100-yard fly, 1:02.02 and Firman claimed second in the 100-yard free, 55.61. Other second place finishes went to freshman Abby Girard (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) in the 100-yard back, Danielson in the 50-yard free and sophomore Maegan Miller (Olathe, Kan./Olathe) in the 100-yard breast.

The Panthers will be back in action Saturday (Jan. 20) in the Wellness and Recreation Center Pool at 1 p.m. against Luther College.
