Georgia Tech Women Score Pair of Wins

ATLANTA, Georgia, January 14. Georgia Tech swam past Emory and North Florida (women) on Senior Day in the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center on Sunday.

Seniors Conrad Aach and Ryan Bishop and junior Elizabeth Stowe and freshman Hannah Krimm tallied a pair of first-place finishes. Aach, a native of North Country, Canada, posted a season-best time of 1:53.85 in the men's 200-yard butterfly and swam a time of 1:55.96 in the 200 individual medley.

Bishop, a native of Signal Mountain, Tenn., swam a season-best time of 1:53.07 in the men's 200 backstroke and posted a season-best time of 2:03.72 in the 200 breaststroke.

Stowe, a native of Lawrenceville, Ga., clocked times of 5:00.12 (500 freestyle) and 10:10.62 (1000 free), respectively.

Krimm, a native of Upper Arlington, Ohio, captured the women's one-meter board and three-meter board with NCAA Zone scores of 288.15 and 304.30 for the Yellow Jackets.

The Jacket men (2-4) defeated the second-ranked Division III Eagles, 144-89, while the women (4-5) upended the top-ranked Emory Eagles (Div. III), 141-100, and North Florida, 185-58.

Junior All-American diver Evan Stowers swept the springboards for the men's team. Stowers tallied NCAA Zone qualifying scores of 346.00 and 310.25, respectively.

Sophomore Noah Copeland registered two victories for Tech in the men's 200 free and 500 free events. Copeland clocked times of 1:39.30 and 4:37.18, respectively.

Senior Ofer Finkler posted a time of 47.12 in the men's 100 free to finish in first place. Freshman Ryan Crete clocked a season-best time of 9:16.53 in the men's 1000 free to capture first for the Jackets.

Junior Megan Campbell clocked a season-best time of 2:13.93 in the women's 200 individual medley to finish first.

Bourgeois swam a season-best time of 21.17 in the men's 50 freestyle and led off the 400 medley relay team with a split time of 50.90 in the 100 backstroke to lead the men's medley relay team of Alex Williams, Ofer Finkler and Onur Uras to a first-place finish with a time of 3:26.17.

The women's 400 medley relay team of Agatha Kwasnik, Alison Walker, Campbell and Lisa Pucci finished first with a time of 3:57.40.

Pucci finished first in the 200 breaststroke with a season-best time of 2:27.08 for the Rambling Wreck.

Freshman Jing Li finished first in the women's 200 free with a season-best time of 1:52.80. The women's 400 free relay team of Li, Mari McLeod, Taylor Flynn and Lauren Barnes posted a time of 3:35.61 to finish in first place.
