Texas junior Jamie Rauch qualified second in 1:46.61, Stanford junior Adam Messner was third in 1:46.70, Texas junior Scot Goldblatt was fourth in 1:46.75, Stanford freshman John Waters was fifth in 1:46.98, Southern Cal freshman Jeff Lee was sixth in 1:47.01, Nevada-Las Vegas sophomore Jacint Simon was seventh in 1:47.17 and Arizona junior Jay Schryver was eighth in 1:47.48.
