CCSU Signs Two

NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut, December 13. THE Central Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team announced the signing of two swimmers today, Wednesday, Dec. 13. Head Coach Bill Ball will welcome Connecticut natives Alyssa Reinhard and Megan McGorry to the Blue Devil team for the 2007-08 season. McGorry will come to New Britain from West Haven High, where she was an All-State performer. Reinhard, who is also a multiple All-State honoree, will join fellow Cheshire High alums Jessica Adams and Jillian Piedescalzo on the Blue Devil roster.

McGorry is a butterfly and sprint free specialist. A Speedo Sectional Qualifier and All-State performer, the West Haven High standout will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact at the conference meet and will add great depth to the program as a whole.

Reinhard, meanwhile, is an IM and breaststroke specialist. A NCSA Junior National qualifier in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events and multiple All-State performer from Cheshire High, Reinhard will enter CCSU having swum faster times than former Blue Devil swimmer and NCAA qualifier Jaime Crowley.

"Since arriving at CCSU, I have always had a goal of keeping the best in state swimmers at home," Ball said. "The signing of two of Connecticut's best senior swimmers is very important to this program. Alyssa and Megan are great athletes with tremendous potential and I look forward to working with them both. This addition should keep the Blue Devils as one of the NEC's strongest programs for the next several years."
