US Synchro Names 2007 World Championships Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio, December 13. THE 2007 Senior National Synchronized Swimming Team Trials concluded Tuesday, which facilitated the naming of the 2007 World Championship Team. The event was held at the McCorkle Aquatic Center on the campus of the Ohio State University, Dec. 11-12.

This team will represent the United States at the FINA World Aquatic Championships held in Melbourne, Australia, March 17-24. Members include (in alphabetical order):

Brooke Abel (Fallbrook, Calif.) of the Riverside Aquettes
Poppy Carlig (Richmond, Calif.) of Stanford University
Janet Culp (Littleton, Colo.) of the Santa Clara Aquamaids
Jennie Culp (Littleton, Colo.) of the Santa Clara Aquamaids
Kate Hooven (Pleasanton, Calif.) of the Santa Clara Aquamaids
Christina Jones (Fremont, Calif.) of the Santa Clara Aquamaids
Becky Kim (Walnut Creek, Calif.) of the Ohio State University
Andrea Nott (San Jose, Calif.) of the Santa Clara Aquamaids
Annabelle Orme (Walnut Creek, Calif.) of the Walnut Creek Aquanuts
Jillian Penner (Seattle, Wash.) of the Walnut Creek Aquanuts
Kim Probst (Troy, N.Y.) of the Walnut Creek Aquanuts

Earlier in the week, United States Synchronized Swimming held the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which nominated Jones and Nott to serve as the duet on the 2008 Olympic Team. The remaining members of the Olympic Team will be named April 28, 2007 in Indianapolis, Ind. at the U.S. National Championships.
