Texas junior Colleen Lanne qualified first in the 100m free with a time of 54.61, as only three swimmers cracked 55 seconds. Georgia's Courtney Shealy, winner of the 50 free on Thursday and the 100 back last night, was second (54.71) with Nebraska's Helene Muller third (54.89)
Rounding out the top eight were Keiko Price, UCLA (55.01); Catherine Fox, Stanford (55.04); Courtney Allen, Northwestern (55.14); Sarah Tolar, Arizona (55.15); and Stefanie Williams, Georgia (55.16). It took 55.78 to make consols.
