Michigan Women Sign Two

ANN ARBOR, Michigan, November 16. MICHIGAN women's swimming head coach Jim Richardson announced Wednesday the signing of two recruits for the 2007-08 season. Natasha Moodie (Miramar, Fla./Miramar) and Brett Pedley (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines) will both join the Maize and Blue next season.

Moodie, a sprinter, joins Michigan from Miramar High School in Florida. She will pursue pharmacy as a major. "Natasha is a 6'1" sprinter with a world of potential," Richardson said. "A Jamaican by birth, she has been training in the US for about four years. She should have an immediate impact in the freestyle sprint events."

Pedley ranked in the top 16 nationally in her age group. She comes to Ann Arbor from Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, Calif., and will study environmental studies and public policy. "In recent years Brett has pursued open water swimming," Richardson said. "However, we believe that she has all the tools to become a very strong competitor."
