Washington Downs Idaho, 167-94

MOSCOW, Idaho, November 11. THE University of Washington women's swimming team won 11 of the first 12 events Saturday to cruise to the 167-94 victory over Idaho. The win evens Washington's dual meet record to 1-1, while the Vandals dip to 8-4 on the season.

Washington won the first eight events of the meet before placing second in the 200 backstroke. The Huskies came back to win the next three events before swimming the last two races exhibition to prevent running up the score.

Sophomores Kim Jasmer and Lindsey Sharp were double winners for the Huskies. Jasmer won the 500 (5:03.54) and 1000 freestyle (10:13.71), while Sharp placed first in the 100 (53.63) and 200 freestyles (1:56.36).

Other UW winners included freshman Jessica Gaines in the 100 backstroke (57.80), junior Jessica Buchanan in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.02), sophomore Marisa Chang in the 200 butterfly (2:09.73), junior Rachel Seely in the 50 freestyle (24.03), sophomore Maggie Bever in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.17) and freshman Erin Campbell in the 100 butterfly (59.20).

The Huskies also won the 400 medley relay behind the efforts of Gaines, Buchanan, Campbell and Sharp with a time of 3:58.49.
