Duda, Radloff Named CAA Swimmers of the Week

RICHMOND, Virginia, October 31. THE Colonial Athletic Association selected Tribe senior Nick Duda (Vienna, Va.) and freshman Katie Radloff (Arlington, Va.) as the conference Swimmers of the Week, based on their performances against East Carolina this past weekend. It is the first CAA weekly honor ever for the men's team, and first since 2004 for the women.

Duda won both the 50 and 100 freestyles against East Carolina in dominating fashion. In the 50, he timed 21.70 to win by almost half a second (48 hundredths of a second). In the 100, he added another tenth of a second to his margin, swimming a season-fast 47.65 seconds. Since taking second in his first race of the season, the 50 free against Towson, Duda is undefeated in five races.

Radloff continued her amazing start to the season, winning both the 50 and 100 freestyles and setting school records in both efforts. In the 50 free, she swam 23.72 to beat out 2006 NCAA qualifier Rebecca Perry and break the old school record of 23.88, set by graduate Kristi Borkowski at the 2005 CAA Championships. Radloff again out-swam Perry in the 100 free, breaking her own record for the event with her time of 51.18. This is the third time this season that Radloff has reset the school record in the 100 free, out of three races swum at that distance. For the season, Radloff is undefeated in six races, and is second all-time at W&M in the 200 free (1:52.59) in addition to the two school records.
