Moses Swims Second Fastest 200 Breast Ever -- March 3, 2000

By Phillip Whitten

University of Virginia sophomore Ed Moses swam the second fastest 200 yard breaststroke in history at the ACC Championships last weekend, though you won't find his performance in the official meet results.

Disqualified in the prelims of the 200 breast (he did a 1:57+), Moses swam an official time trial on Saturday evening after the final event. His time: 1:53.99. Only Mike Barrowman's American and NCAA record of 1:53.77 from 1990 is faster.

On Friday, Moses swam 52.60 for the 100 breast in prelims, making him the third fastest man ever in the event behind Jeremy Linn's American record of 51.86 and Steve Lundquist's 52.39.
