Duquesne Sweeps Niagara, 110-87 Women/109-84 Men

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania, October 27. DUQUESNE swept visiting Niagara on Friday with a 190-84 triumph on the men's side, and a 110-87 victory for the women at Towers Pool.

For the men, the Dukes won all 11 events led by senior Eric Bugby who captured first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:56.63 and the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.85 while also helping the 200 medley relay win to open the meet. Fellow senior Scott Darwin helped the Red and Blue win both relays and also won the 50 freestyle in 22.08. Senior Clayton Dean and sophomore Chris Kobela also won two races.

On the women's side, the Red and Blue won nine of 11 events led by senior Melissa Johnson who took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.02 and the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.83 while also helping the Dukes win the 200 free relay. Sophomore Katrina Streiner also had a hand in two wins, taking first in the 200 IM in 2:16.77 while helping DU win the 200 free relay as well.
