New Mexico Downs Northern Colorado, 105-104

GREELEY, Colorado, October 26. IN its first meet of the 2006-07 season, the University of New Mexico women's swimming and diving team defeated the women of Northern Colorado,105-104, in an all relay competition that took place in Greeley Colo. today. The Lobos captured five first place finishes out of a total 12 events. Junior diver Carrie Quinn solidified the top spot on both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards (257.93, 244.50 points respectively).

Freshman Ashley Grisdale and sophomores Kristen Naber and Katrina McLoughlin earned the first Lobo win of the night in the 300-yard breaststroke relay clocking in a time of 3:38.63. Other first place finishes included the 500-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard free relay, 1500-yard free relay and 100-yard free relay. Seniors Jenna Syverson and Kelly Soldow, junior Tori Clarridge and freshman Jennifer Patterson made up the winning 500-yard free relay team (4:45.23). The victorious 200-yard free relay team included Soldow, Syverson, Clarridge and freshman Micaela Hoglund (1:39.13). Soldow, Syverson and Clarridge were also a part of the winning 100-yard free relay team along with freshman Theresa Rogers (47.05). The 1500-yard free relay team was comprised of senior Jennifer Hale, junior Amina Adnan and sophomore Jessica Dworschack (16:16.81).

The Lobos sealed six second place finishes and four third place finishes.
