Toledo Beats Oakland, 152-136

TOLEDO, Ohio, October 14. THE Rockets swimming and diving team finished the weekend 2-0 by defeating Oakland 152-136 in a close meet on Saturday.

Picking up two wins each were Brie Henning, Makenzie Manard and Megan McKinley. Henning won the 200 freestyle (1:54.82) and 100 freestyle (53.28). Manard won the 100 (58.83) and 200 (2:09.08) butterfly and McKinley won both the 1-meter (237.48) and 3-meter (249.60) diving.

"Brie, Makenzie and Megan all did an outstanding job for us," said head coach Lars Jorgensen. "We competed hard against a very competitive Oakland team."

Also picking up a victory for the Rockets was Kylie Gamlier in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.63). UT captured first place in the 200 medley relay (1:47.19) with the team of Shannon Hazelton, Kylie Gamlier, Makenzie Manard and Leah Woodard.

"We are happy to end the weekend 2-0 but we still need to push forward and get ready for MAC competition," said Jorgensen.
