Russia Nails Figures Competition at FINA Junior Synchro World Champs

FOSHAN, China, October 9. RUSSIA tore through hump day featuring the compulsory figures session at the FINA Junior Synchronized Swimming World Championships on Monday. The country secured the top six spots in the event.

Anna Udovik recorded the top performance of the day with a 78.731 to finish ahead of Svetlana Ponkratova and Tatiana Zavalishina.

Ponkratova posted a second-place 77.492, while Zavalishina tallied 77.221 points for third place.

Volkova Lvobv (4th/77.061), Viktoria Anufrieva (5th/76.825) and Daria Korobova (6th/76.543) rounded out the top-six for Russia.

China’s Sun Wenyan became the highest non-Russian finisher with a seventh-place tally of 76.421 points.

The championships continue through Wednesday. Finals in duet and free combination start on Tuesday. The meet concludes with solo and team finals on Wednesday.
