Austin Swimming Gets Another Facility

AUSTIN, Texas, September 12. ACCORDING to the Austin-American Statesman, Austin, Texas will add another element to its swimming arsenal. Even with a strong contingent of clubs such as Longhorn and Texas Gold, Austin will welcome the Splash Swim Center, a private indoor facility with two pools, which is currently under construction in the city.

Mike Koleber, the head coach of Nitro Swimming and a former coach at Great Hills and Capital of Texas, spearheaded the project. The All-American from Oakland University in Michigan also included a weight room and cardio workout area in the center’s plans.

"It's nice to have a venue that's indoors," Koleber said, “Swimmers will be able to train regardless of the weather, and no one will have to worry about getting a sunburn, and the sheer vastness of it — having 26 lanes of indoor swimming space at our disposal whenever we want it."
