Kudinov, Maurer Claim 14th Stops of FINA Open Water World Cup

CAPRI-NAPOLI, Italy, September 10. YURI Kudinov of Russia and Angela Maurer of Germany each came home with crowns in the 14th stop of the FINA Open Water Marathon World Cup on Saturday. Swimming in Capri-Napoli, Italy, Kudinov clocked a 7:08:56 to finish ahead of France’s Stephane Gomez (7:09:05) for the men’s title, while Maurer downed compatriot Britta Kamrau with a 7:10:13 against Kamrau’s 7:11:37.

Coming in third for the men, Italy’s Andrea Volpini stopped the clock in 7:09:48, while Russian Natalia Pankina claimed bronze on the women’s side with a 7:26:24.
