Sports Illustrated Highlights American Swim Scene -- August 11, 2006

IRVINE, California, August 11. UNITED States Swimming received some extra exposure this week when Sports Illustrated dedicated four pages of the magazine to some of the up-and-coming females who are strengthening the American arsenal.

The main article focused on five U.S. females who are the future of the American squad - Katie Hoff, Kate Ziegler, Jessica Hardy, Amanda Weir and Kara Lynn Joyce. The women were featured in a full-page photo and highlighted in a two-page article.

Meanwhile, the latest issue of the magazine also focused - in a separate piece - on Chloe Sutton, a teammate of Kate Ziegler with The Fish. Sutton has proven herself as a standout in open-water swimming and as a distance performer in the pool. Ziegler and Sutton are coached by Ray Benecki.
