Russia Rolls Through Team Free Routine Synchro at Europeans

BUDAPEST, Hungary, July 30. RUSSIA continued to own synchronized swimming gold at the 28th LEN European Championships in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday. The team of Maria Gromova, Natalia Ischenko, Elvira Khassianova, Olga Kuzhela, Anna Nasekina, Elena Ovtchinnikova, Svetlana Romashina and Anna Shorina snagged gold with a 98.8 tally, which included a 49.3 in technical merit and 49.5 in artistic impression.

Meanwhile, Spain’s contingent of Alba Cabello, Raquel Corral, Andrea Fuentes, Tina Fuentes, Laura Lopez, Gisela Moron, Irina Rodriguez and Paola Tirados picked up silver with a 97.3. The Spaniard collected 48.6 points in technical merit and 48.7 points in artistic impression.

Italy’s squad of Alessia Bigi, Elisa Bozzo, Manila Flamini, Francesca Gangehi, Mariangela Perrupato, Benedetta Re, Sara Sgarzi and Federica Tommasi closed out the top-three with a bronze-medal 93.6 (46.5 TM + 47.1 AI).
