Ishchenko Captures Gold in Individual Synchro Competition

BUDAPEST, Hungary, July 29 NATALIE Ishchenko of Russia scored the first gold medal of the synchronized swimming portion of the 28th LEN European Championships in Budapest, Hungary on Saturday.

The Russian squeaked by Spain’s Gemma Mengual to claim gold for her country. Overall, Ishchenko pocketed 98.4 points to finish just ahead of Mengual’s silver-winning tally of 97.7.

Meanwhile, Greek Nathalia Anthopoulou closed out the podium with a bronze-winning performance of 93.9.
