Brick Earns ACC Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. January, 18. JUNIOR Lauren Brick (Culpeper, Va.) earned Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week (announced Monday, January 16). This is the first time that Brick has received this honor in her career.

Brick recorded two first place finishes to help the No. 17 Seminoles defeat Miami 146-95 on Saturday, January 14. Brick picked up a win in the 100 breast as she recorded an NCAA B qualifying standard time of 1:03.12. The Culpeper, Va. native, also helped the Seminoles' 200 medley relay squad to a win, as she swam the breaststroke leg on the unit that touched in 1:44.69.

Brick also finished fourth in the 50 free with a time of 24.98.

Brick’s other accomplishments while swimming for Florida State include NCAA All-American honors in the 200 and 400 medley relays (2004), ACC Champion in the 100 breast (2005) and 200 medley relay (2004), All-ACC (2004, 2005) and NCAA qualifier (2004, 2005).

The Florida State men’s (No.14) and women’s (No. 17) swimming and diving teams will be back in action on Saturday, January 21 when they host Florida Atlantic, Florida A&M and Indian River C.C. at the Bobby E. Leach Center at 10:00 a.m.
