Anteaters Split With UC Davis -- December 19, 2005

>IRVINE, California. December, 19. THE UC Irvine men's and women's swimming and diving teams split a dual meet with the UC Davis Aggies Sunday at Anteater Aquatics Complex. The Anteater women won 126.5-116.5 while the 'Eater men lost 133-109.

Junior Ashley DePaul and sophomore Chelsea Nagata were both double event winners for the UCI women. DePaul won the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.18 and the 200 fly with a time of 2:03.36. Nagata won the 50 free (24.03) and the 100 free (52.38).

On the men's side, sophomores Randall Tom and Eddie Erazo each won a pair of events. Tom won the 200 IM with a UCI record time of 1:50.57 and won the 200 breast with a time of 2:04.03. Erazo won the 200 fly (1:52.17) and the 200 back (1:50.43).

The Anteaters return to competition Saturday, January 7th as they host the 26th Annual UCI/Ayres Hotel & Suites Invitationals at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
