NCAA Men's Water Polo: Pepperdine's Lonzo Awarded MPSF Player of the Week -- October 19, 1999

No. 9 PEPPERDINE's sophomore driver, Greg Lonzo, was named MPSF Player of the Week for his outstanding offensive contribution in MPSF wins over No. 10 UC SANTA BARBARA and No. 4 CALIFORNIA. Lonzo, the Wave's leading scorer with 30 points on the season, netted two goals and three points against the Gauchos; then exploded for four goals and five points in the 10-4 upset over Cal in Malibu. Pepperdine trailed the Golden Bears 3-0 before nailing seven unanswered points with Lonzo sealing the victory on a two-point goal in the fourth quarter.
