Tulane Swimming & Diving Ranks Among Nation’s Top 100 In Six Events

COLLEGE STATION, Texas. December, 14. THE Tulane University swimming and diving program has been through a lot during the fall semester of its 2005-06 season, but the Green Wave have not shown any signs of slowing down as the team holds national Top 100 times in six events.

The Green Wave, which endured the wrath of Hurricane Katrina and subsequent relocation to the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, for the 2005 fall semester, ranks as high as 58th in the NCAA in the 400 yard freestyle relay while also holding Top 100 times in the 200 yard backstroke, 200 yard freestyle, 800 yard freestyle relay and both the 200 and 400 yard medley relays.

Sarah Dicharry, Cara Davidoff, Tiffany Brown and Linda McEachrane teamed up to post a 3:30.49 to hold the No. 58 spot in the 400 free relay while the quartet of Brown, Victoria Givens, McEachrane and Dicharry timed out at 7:40.65 in the 800 free to claim the 61st spot on the most recent Top 100 list.

The combination of Dicharry, Brown, Katherine McCoy and McEachrane stand 66th in the nation with a time of 1:37.20 in the 200 free relay while Brown, McEachrane, Taylor Emerson and Dicharry clocked a 3:55.44 in the 400 medley relay to rank 72nd .

Brown, McEachrane, Emerson and McCoy rank 84th in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.22, and freshman Mallory Hoekstra is the lone Tulane individual to rank in the Top 100 with a time of 2:03.26 in the 200 back to stand 87th.

The Green Wave return to action on Friday, Jan. 20, when they take on their hosts, Texas A&M, at 6:30 p.m. at the Reily Student Center Natatorium.
