Kostich Places First at St. Croix Coral Reef Swim -- October 24, 2005

ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands, October 24. ALEX Kostich captured first place on an overall basis and Elissa Kline was the top finisher among women during the 10th edition of the Five-Mile St. Croix Coral Reef Swim over the weekend. Misty Hyman, the 2000 Olympic gold medalist in the 200 butterfly, assisted in the production of the event and led a relay of local junior swimmers.

The swim featured more than 120 athletes ranging in age from 13 to 71 and representing 20 states, territories and Canadian provinces. The proceeds from the event were donated to the Nature Conservancy and will be used to sustain the coral reefs of St. Croix.
