U.S. Takes Eleventh Place at World Junior Water Polo Championships -- October 18, 2005

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, October 18. REBOUNDING from a preliminary-round loss, the United States closed out the World Junior Water Polo Championships with a 6-3 victory over New Zealand in the 11th-place game. Caleb Hamilton led the U.S. squad with two goals and goalie Chay Lapin turned in a 16-save performance.

Serbia and Montenegro won the tournament title, as it defeated Croatia for the gold medal. Spain picked up the bronze medal with a win over Italy and Hungary knocked off Greece in the fifth-place match. Australia toppled Russia for seventh and Japan defeated France for ninth place.
