Wells Returning to San Jose State as Assistant Coach

SAN JOSE, California, September 16. A recent graduate of San Jose State University, Brooke Wells will return to her alma mater as an assistant coach with the women’s swimming program. Head coach Victor Wales announced the hiring of Wells, who was a four-year standout with the Spartans. Wells graduated just a few months ago.

A distance-freestyle specialist, Wells earned the program’s Most Inspirational Award as a senior and twice collected All-Academic honors from the Western Athletic Conference. She graduated with a degree in child development and picked up a minor in special education. Prior to attending San Jose State, Wells competed for Live Oak High School where she earned All-America recognition.

“Brooke brings a wealth of knowledge in the distance events,” said Wales. “She has been coached by some great coaches and been around swimming for a long time. She was a great leader for this program (as a student-athlete). We are looking forward to seeing those leadership skills transferred to the pool deck.”
