Morning Swim Show: Swimming 500 Free At Altitude Paid Big Dividends For Nathan Mueller

PHOENIX, Arizona, July 14. NATHAN Mueller joins today’s edition of The Morning Swim Show less than two months after winning two Colorado state titles in the 200 and 500 freestyles, both of which put him in the top 10 of the high school All-American list for the 2013-2014 school year.

Mueller talks about the effects altitude had on him in winning the 500 free, and when he found out that the 4:26 she swam would be adjusted to a lifetime best 4:21 for altitude. Mueller spoke with “Morning Swim Show” host Jeff Commings from Madison, Wis., where he’s getting in some early work with his Badger teammates, a recommendation he hopes will pay off in fast long course times. The decision to move to Wisconsin early came from the Wisconsin coaches, and a teammate who also made the move to his new college environment a little early.
