Streamlined News: Swimming on Jeopardy!, Water Polo Recap

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 4. IF you live in the United States and missed the past two episodes of the game show Jeopardy!, you missed Masters swimmer Kirk Nelson making a large amount of money. Nelson, an engineer at Boeing, won the game on Friday's show and earned $18,200. On Monday's show, he couldn't keep up with one of his competitors and finished third, earning another $1,000. In addition to being extremely smart, Nelson is also a fast swimmer. He won the 1650 freestyle at last month's Masters short course nationals.

The USA women's water polo team had no problem advancing to the semifinals of the FINA world league super finals tournament today, beating Canada 6-5 in Beijing. Kelly Rulon, who was part of the Olympic gold medal-winning team last year, scored two of the six goals. The Americans move on to compete against China in the semis, which starts at 1 am Pacific time tonight. This tournament is serving as a tuneup for teams participating in the world championships, where the Americans will look to do better than they did in 2011, where they did not advance from the quarterfinals.
