Morning Swim Show: Kristy Kowal’s Years as Georgia Bulldog Reaped Big Rewards

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 21. NCAA champion and Olympic medalist Kristy Kowal joins today's edition of The Morning Swim Show to look back on her career at the University of Georgia and how it shaped her current life as an elementary school teacher.

Kowal, a three-time 200 breast winner, also details the emotions behind helping Georgia win two team titles in 1999 and 2000. In addition to her 200 breast wins, she was a multiple 100 breast winner and a surprise champion in the 200 IM, an event she describes in great detail to host Jeff Commings. The year 2000 was a standout for Kowal, who picked up an Olympic silver medal in addition to the NCAA Woman of the Year honor. Kowal says being on that prestigious list of notable women is an honor and means that the work she did in and out the pool had some meaning for her.
