French Grand Prix, Bordeaux: Meet Records Fly Off Books

BORDEAUX, France, February 7. SWIMMERS took dead aim at the meet record books at the French Grand Prix held in Bordeaux over long course meters.

Fabien Gilot tore through the men's 100 free meet record with a time of 48.70 to win the event, while Camille Lacourt downed the men's 50 back meet record twice with a 25.74 during prelims and a winning 25.48 during finals.

Cloe Credeville clinched the women's 100 back meet record with a triumphant time of 1:02.87, while Ben Stasiulis took down the men's 200 back meet record twice with a 2:03.23 during prelims and a 2:01.66 during finals

Both 50 fly meet records took a fall as Diane Bui Duyet hit the wall in 27.61 to win the women's title, while Antoine Galavtine clocked a 24.74 to win the men's crown. Meanwhile, Magali Rousseau cleared the women's 200 fly meet record with a 2:11.61.

In other action, Camelia Potec earned the women's 1500 free victory with a time of 15:57.89, while Gabriella Fagundez topped the women's 200 free in 2:00.83.

Alena Alekseeva dominated the women's 200 breast in 2:26.90, while Henrique Barbosa touched out Hugues Duboscq and Kristopher Gilchrist, 1:01.54 to 1:01.70, 1:01.91, in the men's 100 breast.

Cyril Marchant touched out Marvin Maisonneuve, 2:04.52 to 2:04.56, to walk away with the men's 200 fly title. Meanwhile, Charlie Marqueton took home the women's 200 IM crown in 2:19.01.

In middle distance swimming, Nicolas Rostoucher held off Romain Beraud, 3:56.66 to 3:56.85, for the men's 400 free crown.

Andrea Baudry hit the wall in 33.20 to grab the women's 50 breast title, while Fagundez garnered a second title with a 25.90 in the women's 50 free.
